Meltham is a small town situated below Wessenden Moor, four-and-a-half miles south west from Huddersfield town centre. On the edge of the Peak District National Park, Meltham boasts stunning views as well as offer numerous activities, cafes, eateries, restaurants, services and events. Meltham is within close reach of several major cities, including Bradford, Leeds and Sheffield. The valley has been inhabited since pre-historic times, with two Iron Age sites overlooking the town.
Peter is the Tower Captain at St. Bartholomew's. There are 6 bells that are rung every Sunday from 9am to call everyone in for the 9.30am service. The bell ringers practise every Thursday night from 7pm until 8pm and then usually retire to the Liberal Club to put the world to rights.
