Meltham's Annual Scarecrow Festival

Well what an amazing day that was. Thank you to everyone who came along to the Scarecrow Festival on Monday 7th May. We hope you had a brilliant day and enjoyed the wonderful weather, music, stalls and entertainment

A huge thank you to all out fabulous performers: Tim Szoradi, The Honley Samba Band, Rebel With A Cause,  Fishing For Compliments, Diggle B Band, The Huddersfield Wind Band, Nowhere Men and Whispering Jim who brought atmosphere, dancing and rhythm to the day

A massive thank you also to everyone at Meltham Fire Station, all those who entered the fancy dress parade and competitions and of course our fabulous traders: The Fox Hole, Joy's Joyful Delights, The Three Fiends, Mobile Gourmet Kitchen, Meltham Scout Group, Woodfired Yorkshire, Glen’s Gems, Honley High, Weleda ‘Nice Cream Van’, Books at Holme, Star Face Painting, Hands Off HRI, KP’s Book Nooks, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Diane's Bric-a-Brac, Coconut Shy, Tutu Terrific, Meltham Walkers & Kirklees Bridle Ways Group

And finally an absolute whopper of a thank you to our remarkable Retired Over 60's who we worked closely with to ensure we delivered everything the attendees and participants of the festival have come to love

Stalls & Entertainment

If you would like to register your interest in hosting a stall or performing at next year's event, please email with your name, contact number and a brief description of your proposed stall / entertainment

The deadline for registering to perform, host an event or run a stall at next year's festival, will be Friday 29th March 2019

Crawford Crow

Well its a goodbye from Cawford Crow,  Meltham's little scarecrow, for now as he rests after his epic journey around the village

The MBA will be looking for volunteers to help out at next year's festival. This could be anything from helping set up gazebos, putting out scarecrows, helping in the church hall, putting up banners and posters or helping tidy things away afterwards - whatever you can help with we would very much appreciate your time and contribution.
